Happy Monday guys! I decided to come off the weekend with a dessert recipe. I mean if we have to start this week and go back to work let’s make the start of the week sweet right LMAO!! Anyway here are some freaking awesome Apple Crisp Shortbread Bars. This is one of those dangerous desserts. It has the perfect amount of sweetness where your not over whelmed at any point, but so freaking good you just keep popping them in your mouth. Before you know it you have killed the whole tray when you meant to just have one bar! So seriously guys you need to try these I know you will totally fall in love with them! Apple Crisp Shortbread Bars

Total Time: 2 hours, 45 minutes

Yield: 6 Servings

Apple Crisp Shortbread Bars

Ingredients

  • Shortbread Crust:
  • 1/2 Cup Butter, Softened
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • Apple Filling:
  • 3 Granny Smith Apples
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
  • Brown Sugar Topping:
  • 1/2 Cup Flour
  • 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Butter, Melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F
  2. Cream Butter, you want tit to start to turn white, add in Sugar, vanilla and salt. Once combined slowly add in the flour.
  3. Press into your baking pan, and bake for 15 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, combine the apples, flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg until the apples are well coated.
  5. Mix flour, 3/4 up brown sugar and butter.
  6. Remove the crust from the oven and turn the heat up to 350 degrees F. Sprinkle one half of the Topping over the short bread, then layer the apples on top. You will have multiple layers so try to keep it level. Once this is finished, sprinkle the remainder of the Topping evenly on top and place in the oven to bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool fully before placing in the fridge to set for at least 2 hours. Once it’s set, remove from the baking dish by lifting out the parchment paper and cut into squares.
