Fried Mac N’ Cheese

Hey all happy Monday! Today’s recipe is a special request from my daughter Maddie. She has been craving this Fried Mac N’ Cheese and has been on my for awhile now to make it lol. This one is pretty cool and simple to make, plus if you don’t want to make the Mac from scratch you can use store bought Mac and Cheese you would just need 3 cups of it and boom! The recipe still works lol. You can also customize this one with different blends of cheese, I went simple just because little Miss Picky lol. Fried Mac N’ Cheese Recipe

Total Time 3 hours

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz. Elbow Noodles
  • 4 Tbsp. Butter
  • 4 tbsp. Four
  • 3 Cups Milk
  • 8 oz. Cheddar Cheese Shredded
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1-1/2 Cups Panko Breadcrumbs

Instructions
 

  • Cook noodles as per directions on the box.
  • In large pot melt butter, add in flour and mix together. Allow to cook for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Slowly whisk in milk until completely combined. Simmer for 5-10 minutes stirring occasionally, until you have reached your desired thickness.
  • Turn off heat and add in cheese, stirring until it is completely melted. Add cooked noodles and stir until coated.
  • Place pot in the refrigerator allowing mac to chill for about 2-3 hours.
  • Heat oil to 350 degrees.
  • Create small balls from chilled mac and cheese, first dipping them in the beaten eggs then coating them in Panko breadcrumbs.
  • Fry your mac and cheese for about 2-3 minutes, until they become golden. Remove them from the oil and place on a paper towel to allow to drain.
