Maple Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Sometimes even my simple recipes are a little too complex lol, you just feel like doing something really and I mean REALLY basic but that still is a worth while treat. With that in mind I decided to make Maple Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. This is a step better than your average classic Oatmeal Raisin cookie, so will totally wow any one you make them for. While being a simple cookie recipe. I mean come on cookies are basically put it in a bowl mix it and bake it. Doesn’t get much easier for such an awesome taste. Go ahead guys give this one a try I know you will love them!

Cookies
  1. 1/2 Cup Butter, Softened
  2. 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  3. 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
  4. Salt
  5. 1/3 Cup Maple Syrup
  6. 1 Egg
  7. 1-1/2 tsp. Vanilla
  8. 3/4 Cup Flour
  9. 1-1/2 Cup Oats (quick cook or regular)
  10. 3/4 Cup Raisins
Glaze
  1. 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
  2. 3 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
  3. 2 Tbsp. Milk (Optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl beat butter with a mixer on medium 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Beat on medium 2 minutes, scraping bowl as needed. Beat in 1/3 cup maple syrup, egg, and 1 tsp. of the vanilla. Beat in flour on low. Stir in oats and raisins.
  2. Drop dough by teaspoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12 minutes or until edges are set and centers are still soft. Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet. Remove; cool on wire rack.
  3. In a small bowl stir together powdered sugar, the 3 Tbsp. maple syrup, and the remaining 1/2 tsp. vanilla. If necessary, add a milk or water, 1/2 tsp. at a time, to desired consistency. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
