Happy Monday! I mean it is super cold and snowy here in the Chicagoland area but you know still why not be a happy Monday lol. Anyway I think this is the perfect recipe after the long drawn out weekend I had. An awesome pizza recipe with just a little bit of a twist. We are making a Bloody Mary Pizza! Yup you read that right lol. We are making from scratch (well not the dough lol) a freaking awesome tasting Pizza that will totally KILL when you serve it. This one is fun and easy and a break for the day to day normal pizza. So go ahead give this one a try, when you do make sure to take a pic and post it to my Facebook page!

Bloody Mary Pizza Recipe

Ingredients
  

Bloody Mary Pizza Sauce:

  • 1 Cup Onion Chopped
  • 28 oz. Can Whole Peeled tomatoes
  • 1/2 Cup Hot Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Vodka
  • 2 Garlic Cloves Minced
  • 2 tsp. Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp. Basil
  • 1/2 tsp. Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 tsp. Red Pepper Flake
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Pizza:

  • 1 Refrigerated Pizza Dough
  • 1-1/2 Cup Mozzarella Cheese Shredded
  • 4 Bacon Slices Chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes Sliced
  • 1/2 Cup Green Olives
  • 1 Tbsp. Corn Meal
  • Red Pepper Flake

Instructions
 

  • In a small sauce pan, heat a little bit of oil and sauté garlic and onion, until they become fragrant and translucent.
  • Add in entire can of whole peeled tomatoes. , then the rest of the ingredients for the Bloody Mary Sauce into the sauce pan, except for the vodka. Stir to combine and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for about 20-25 minutes. 
  • Stir in the vodka and allow to simmer another 15 minutes. The tomatoes should break down in this time, if not you can crush them with a wooden spoon.
  • While sauce is simmering preheat oven to 375˚.
  • On pizza stone or baking pan spread corn meal. Place dough over corn meal. Place a nice thick layer of the Bloody Mary sauce on the dough. Then layer cheese, bacon, tomatoes and olives. 
  • Bake pizza until crust is a golden brown and cheese is nice and melty. About 12-15 minutes.
