Hey guys! It’s the weekend, and it is Fall! I am going to throw out a few fall French Toast recipes over the next few weeks. You know take those fall favorites and mix them in with a simple breakfast favorite. I am starting with one of my all time favorite fall desserts.. the Apple Pie! Yup I am making Apple Pie Stuffed French Toast! This is an awesome little breakfast or heck dessert I know you guys will totally love. Apple Pie French Toast
Ingredients
French Toast:
- 4 French Bread Slices
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Tbsp. Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
Apple Pie Filling:
- 2 Apples Peeled and Diced
- 3 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Butter
- 1 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. Lemon Juice
Instructions
- In a small pan melt butter and brown sugar over a medium heat. Once melted down add in the apples, lemon juice and cinnamon.
- Once fully combined lower the heat, cover and allow to cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a shallow bowl/dish whisk together eggs, cream, vanilla, sugar and cinnamon.
- Slice each pf your French bread slices down the middle without cutting all the way through. Stuff apple pie mixture evenly into each slice of French bread.
- Dip each stuffed slice int egg mixture allowing each side to sit for about 5-10 seconds in mixture.
- Cook in pan/skillet until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes each side.
