Pre-heat oven to 375˚.
Brown and break up ground beef in skillet, while the beef is browning add in garlic and onion. Drain fat once done cooking and add in potatoes, allow to cook for another 5 minutes.
Add in BBQ sauce, mustard, ketchup, beef broth and cornstarch. Bring it to a boil, turn down the heat and allow to simmer for about 5 minutes so it can thicken up.
If cooking in a pie pan transfer over. I used a cast iron skillet. Top with cheddar cheese.
In a medium bowl whisk together Bisquik, egg, milk, and cheese. Spoon mixture over meat and cheese. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake for about 25 minutes, until topping is golden brown.
